CHARACTERISTICS : Upright growth habit. Square sectioned culms, prominent nodes with small root thorns. Beautiful supple glossy leaves. This is the only bamboo with square sections.

Propagation : Rhizome cutting or clump division.
Needs : Conserve this bamboo in a shelter spot because the young shoots that sprout in the Autumn won’t resist frost.
Uses : Solitary clump, border. Suitable for pots and jardinières.
Maintenance : For pots, provide a healthy and well-drained soil and fertilize twice a year. Inside or in veranda, provide sufficient light and hygrometry.
