CHARACTERISTICS : Glossy yellow stripe along the sulcus contrasting with the green of the culm. The culm of the young shoots is black for the first month. It has often zigzags at the base of the canes.

Propagation : Rhizome cutting or clump division.
Needs : Although it likes sunny locations, the culms situated in partial shade are more colourful.
Uses : Border, hedge, isolated clump. Suitable for pots or jardinières.
Maintenance : For pots, provide a healthy and well-drained soil and fertilize twice a year.
