CHARACTERISTICS : Upright growth habit. Bright yellow culms with striped green sulcus. The sheaths of the shoots and the young culms turn red when exposed to the sun. For more than fifteen years, some culms flower without affecting the rest of the species.

Propagation : Rhizome cutting or clump division.
Needs : Young early sprouting shoots need to be protected from Frost (Spring).

Maintenance : Every two years in Winter, thin out the dry culms aged five and more years.
