CHARACTERISTICS : This attractive and elegant bamboo produces pleasing sprays of gently arching foliage. Dense bright leaves. The young culms that appear in Autumn are covered with marble-like sheathes which is where its Latin name originates from.

Propagation : Rhizome cutting or clump division.
Needs : Likes fresh soil. Overpowered by strong sun. Provide a shady place. Planted in the ground, the young culms that develops in the Autumn can suffer from frost (-10°C.).
Uses : Clump, riverbank, hedge. Suitable for pots or jardinières.
Maintenance : For pots, provide a healthy and well-drained soil and fertilize twice a year. If kept inside, need light.
