Origin : Japan
CHARACTERISTICS : Its foliage is an intense red when it emerges turning dark green after a month. When Autumn returns, it becomes red again. During the Summer months some new branches develop young red leaves making the maple very attractive.

Needs : Hardy, this variety can adapt to any exposure. Does not like damp soils.

Maintenance : Its growth habit is bushy and densely packed with branches. Necessitates pruning in February to ventilate its centre.
